One of the favourite Irish dishes I enjoy and I know lots of the Slimtone members make it quite regular is COLCANNON.
Tasty served with grilled sausages etc and easy to make. Simply clean and cook potatoes for approx 10 minutes in lightly salted water. Add shredded cabbage and sliced spring onions and continue cooking for further 10 minutes or until vegetables are soft. Drain water, season with black pepper and mash. Also really tasty when dry fried in a non stick pan. (I find the ready prepared bags of cabbage and leek available in most supermarkets ideals for this recipe)The Leek and Potato soup included in our March recipes on http://www.slimtone.co.uk will also be a good meal served with a chunk of soda bread. Something that surprises everyone is a glass of Guinness is only 100 calories so enjoy.
Tondu School PTA are holding a pamper evening in the Tondu Cricket club on Wednesday 17th March starting at 6.00pm. Julie Green one of our target members an myself have been invited. If you can make it please pop in and have a chat it will be great seeing familiar faces again.

One of the favourite desserts in the Lifestyle plan is the Lemon and Lime cheescake. This would make a delicious treat at any time but especially this Sunday if you are celebrating Mother’s Day.
The recipe is currently on our website http://www.slimtone.co.uk along with our healthy eating Welsh cakes, and corned beef casserole. Give them a try I know you and the family will enjoy.
Slimtone members at their new venue at Llys Faen Bridgend all celebrated FairTrade Fortnight by enjoying a cup of FairTrade coffee and tea and their weekly meeting. One of the members was thrilled to win a raffle of FairTrade products. I was thrilled that the total weight loss at the class that week was nearly 47 pounds. So swapping to healthy options as well as buying FairTrade is certainly helping so many. The class meets every Friday at Llys Faen, Quarella Rd. and everyone is welcome.
