Farmhouse Breakfast Week is promoting the importance of this meal. It has been proven that it certainly helps concentration, and prevents those hunger pangs mid morning which as we all know is so important. This week we have been sharing with our Slimtone members some recipes that will make you shake up and wake up. Let me know which one is your favourite.
SHAKE UP YOUR WAKE UP
Any of the following Delicious and QUICK breakfast ideas from Slimtone will make a perfect start to your day or an evening snack. All the following are approx 200 cals
Ultimate Big Breakfast A slice thick granary toast topped with 2 bacon medallions, served with grilled cherry tomatoes. grilled mushrooms, poached or scrambled egg and 1 tblspn brown sauce.
MARIE’S TIP This meal also makes a tasty main meal when served with 5ozs/140g “fried” potatoes or mustard mashed potatoes.
Breakfast Wrap Spread 1 tblspn brown sauce over bread wrap, fill with 2 grilled bacon medallions, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms.
Fruity Porridge Weigh out 1 ½ oz porridge oats. Add small portion of frozen blueberries, raspberries or fruits of the forest, make up with water and cook in micro for approx 2 mins – add a splash of skimmed milk stir well and return to micro for another minute on high. The fruit will have burst and the delicious taste of the juices will help you rise and shine. Drizzle over a small pot of diet yoghurt for a perfect start to the day.
Eggy Bread & Bacon. Soak one slice of thick granary bread into a beaten egg. Mist non stick pan and “fry” bread on both sides. Serve with two bacon medallions and grilled tomatoes
Toast with canned tomatoes and poached egg. Spoon canned tomatoes over one thick slice of granary, wholemeal bread toasted and top with poached egg.
Toasted Crumpets with Banana & Honey Toast two crumpets and top with mashed banana drizzled with honey
Breakfast B.L.T. Bap Split a granary bap. Spread with brown sauce and fill with two bacon, medallions. Lots of crispy lettuce and cherry tomatoes.
Toast and Scrambled Egg Top a slice of granary or wholemeal toast with scrambled egg. Marie’s Tip, Pop a Laughing Cow Light triangle into egg when scrambling or for a hot spicy breakfast a few chilli flakes.
